1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference resource with no connection to a government body. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve records, perform official checks, or submit filings for a user.

Its role is to identify the offices that maintain Tama County records, including the Sheriff's Office, Iowa District Court, Iowa DCI, and the Iowa Sex Offender Registry, and to provide access to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Every user agrees not to:

• Use the service in violation of federal, Iowa, or local law
• Threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harass a person with information found here
• Use site content for an FCRA-regulated decision
• Deploy a bot, scraper, or other automated collection tool
• Seek unauthorized entry to any system or account
• Disrupt service, overload pages, or interfere with another visitor

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this resource or a linked tool may not be used to stalk, threaten, harass, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. This rule is especially important for Iowa Sex Offender Registry data. Iowa Code chapter 692A and the registry warning impose limits, and misuse may lead to criminal consequences. Registry access serves safety and awareness, never vigilante action or an FCRA-regulated decision.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Tama County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It creates no credit report, background check, or consumer report. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provide a service designed for a regulated screening decision. A user may not rely on site or linked-tool data to:

• Decide whether to hire or fire someone
• Screen potential renters or housing applicants
• Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
• Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
• Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A legally permissible official check should be obtained through Iowa DCI or a properly compliant provider selected for that purpose.

5. No Legal Advice

Content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how an Iowa charge, conviction, warrant, registration duty, or expungement provision affects one person. Consult an Iowa-licensed attorney for advice.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is." No warranty promises that:

• Outside search results are complete, current, or correctly matched
• Every page is accurate and current at all times
• The service will remain available without interruption
• The website contains no defect, bug, or security weakness

Charges, dispositions, access rules, expungement orders, and agency procedures change. Gaps or delays are possible. No page is an official statement from the Tama County sheriff, an Iowa court, DCI, or another public body.

Links may lead to sheriff, court, state-agency, legal-resource, and outside search websites. Following a link leaves this service. Tama County Criminal History does not control or accept responsibility for the destination's content, privacy practices, prices, accuracy, or availability. Read its terms before proceeding.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Tama County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or adapted without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the broadest extent allowed by law, Tama County Criminal History is not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to defend and hold the operator harmless from claims, demands, and proceedings caused by that user's conduct or breach of these terms, including related legal costs and fees.

11. Governing Law

Iowa law governs these terms, and any dispute arising from website use must be brought in a court located in Iowa. For the official records discussed here, Iowa Code chapter 22 governs public-record access, chapter 692 governs criminal-history dissemination and challenges, and chapter 692A governs sex offender registry information.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated language is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is found invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.
